MASTER’S PROGRAM

About Program

During the first two semesters of the program, theoretical and practical courses are offered in which graphic design theories are analyzed and discussed. The program aims to educate graphic designers and art directors who are capable of utilizing their design skills on national and international platforms, who possess advanced project implementation abilities, who can develop knowledge through design competence and aesthetics, and who have a strong intellectual background.

Eligible Applicants:

Graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree from the Departments of Graphic Design / Graphics / Printing Arts / Visual Arts / Visual Communication Design / Cartoon and Animation / Animation within the Faculties of Fine Arts, Art and Design, or Fine Arts and Design may apply.

Note: Applications from candidates whose academic background does not meet the specified eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Written: 40%

Portfolio: 30%

Scientific Examination

Written (40%) + Portfolio (30%) + Interview (30%)

Fields Subject to Examination:

Graphic Design, Illustration, Graphic Printmaking, and Visual Communication Design and related areas.

Written:

A written and/or multiple-choice examination will be administered covering fundamental concepts in the field, designers and artists, design and art works, and design-related activities.

Portfolio:

In addition to the works produced during the candidate’s undergraduate education, independently produced art and design works will also be evaluated. The portfolio must be prepared digitally in PDF format and must not exceed a maximum file size of 20 MB. If portfolios are not submitted on time, the candidate will not receive the Portfolio grade, which constitutes one of the examination components. If desired, the candidate may bring a printed portfolio or original works deemed necessary when attending the oral examination.

The portfolio must include at least 20 works representing the candidate’s production, and a one-page curriculum vitae including identity information, contact details, and educational background.

Portfolios must be sent electronically to (deugrafikyukseklisans@gmail.com) no later than 04/08/2025.

Interview:

Questions will be asked regarding fundamental concepts in the field, designers and artists, design and art works, and design-related activities.

Final Success Score:

Scientific Examination (50%) + Undergraduate GPA (50%)

Note: Candidates must bring a blue ballpoint pen for use during the written examination.
