DOCTORAL PROGRAM

About the Program

The aim of the program is to develop students’ ability to analyze social and cultural phenomena related to music within the framework of research methods, theories, and new orientations in ethnomusicology, and to educate individuals who, in accordance with the principle of lifelong learning, are active, open to interaction, and capable of understanding and improving the environment in which they live.

Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate (minimum score: 55)

 

Graduates holding a thesis-based Master’s degree from the Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Musicology; Conservatory Opera Art Branch; Conservatory Music Major Art Branch; Music Major Art Branch; Institute of Educational Sciences, Fine Arts Education, Music Teaching; and Social Sciences fields may apply.

Note: Applications from candidates whose academic background does not meet the specified eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Written Examination: 40%

Interview: 60%

Candidates will be required to answer one or more questions within the framework of ethnomusicology.

Interview:

The candidate’s engagement with the field of Musicology in general, and Ethnomusicology in particular, will be evaluated based on their responses to questions posed by the jury members.

Scientific Examination (50%) + Master’s GPA (50%)

Note: Candidates must bring a blue ballpoint pen for use during the written examination.
