FINE ARTS PROGRAM

About the Program

It aims to establish an educational program that contributes to the advancement of the artistic and cultural level of society and takes a leading role through the importance it places on the preservation of cultural and artistic values.

All courses, except for the thesis and Specialization Field course, are elective. Students may specialize in Carpet and Kilim and Antique Textile Patterns, Tile Art and Restoration of Antique Tiles, and Illumination (Tezhip) through the courses they choose, and have these specializations indicated in their diploma supplements.

Graduates of the following programs may apply to this program:

All Departments, Programs, and Major Art/Science Branches of Faculties of Fine Arts;

Department of Islamic History and Arts of the Faculty of Theology;

Departments of Chemistry, Art History, and Archaeology of Faculties of Science and Letters;

Departments of Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering of Faculties of Engineering;

Departments of Decorative Arts Teaching and Handicrafts Education Teaching of Faculties of Vocational Education;

Departments of Handicrafts, Traditional Turkish Arts, and Visual Communication Design of Faculties of Art and Design;

Department of Art Teaching (Painting-Work Education) of Faculties of Education;

Department of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage;

Department of Interior Architecture.

Note: Applications from candidates whose academic background does not meet the specified eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Examination

  • Written Examination: 40%

  • Portfolio: 30%

  • Interview: 30%

Scientific Examination

Supporting Document: Documentary evidence (such as posters, invitations, etc.) demonstrating that the submitted works belong to the candidate.

Fields within the scope of Traditional Turkish Arts.

Final Success Score:

Scientific Examination (50%) + Undergraduate GPA (50%)

For candidates required to submit an ALES score;

Final Success Score: ALES (50%) + Scientific Examination (25%) + Undergraduate GPA (25%).

Note: Candidates must bring a blue ballpoint pen for use during the written examination.
