About the Program

The program is primarily intended for conservatory graduates who have earned their bachelor’s degree in the field of opera and who aim to pursue an academic or artistic career by specializing in their field. During the first two semesters of the program, advanced-level vocal and acting techniques are studied, along with opera and song repertoire from different historical periods. In addition to these practical components, theoretical courses such as Opera History, Vocal Anatomy, and Artistic Concepts aim to further develop students’ existing musical foundations.

The program is open to all conservatory graduates and graduates of Stage Design and Music Departments who have completed their undergraduate education in the Opera Major Field.

Note: Applications from candidates whose educational background does not meet the student source requirements will not be accepted.

Examination:

Scientific Examination: Performance (50%) + Portfolio (10%) + Interview (40%)

Performance: The performance examination is based on the repertoire specified in the examination syllabus.

Examination Syllabus:

  • One complete opera

    (At least one aria of the character to be performed, as well as duet or ensemble scenes)

  • In addition to the complete opera:

    • 3 arias

      (1 Mozart aria, 1 major Baroque aria, and 1 additional aria)

    • 3 songs

      (At least two different languages and two different periods are required; one song must be in French and another in German)

All works performed in the examination, including the complete opera, must be sung from memory.

Portfolio: Candidates must submit a portfolio to the jury during the examination in a single file, including their undergraduate diploma, transcript, and documents related to their artistic activities (such as concerts, recitals, opera performances, competition awards, masterclass participation, workshop certificates, etc.).

Interview: Candidates will be asked questions related to their field of specialization as well as general knowledge questions.

Final Evaluation Score: Scientific Examination (50%) + Cumulative Grade Point Average (50%)
