About the Program

The program aims to contribute to the development of the artistic and cultural level of society and to take a leading role in society by emphasizing the preservation of cultural and artistic values. All courses, except for the Thesis, Area of Specialization, and Seminar, are elective. Through this program, students who will specialize in Textile and Fashion Design may, by selecting relevant courses, have the subfields of Textile Design, Fashion Apparel Design, and Fashion Accessories Design recorded in their diploma supplement.

Graduates of the following undergraduate programs may apply:

  • Faculties of Fine Arts: Textile and Fashion Design, Fashion Apparel Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Textile Departments

  • Faculties of Art and Design: Textile and Fashion Design, Fashion Apparel Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Textile Departments

  • Faculties of Architecture and Design: Textile and Fashion Design, Fashion Apparel Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Textile Departments

(Candidates who do not meet these criteria will not be admitted to the examinations, even if they have applied through the system.)

Scientific Examination: Written Exam (40%) + Portfolio (40%) + Interview (20%)

Written Exam: A knowledge-based written examination will be conducted, covering key concepts in Textile and Fashion Design, design movements, designers, fashion and design events, historical processes, aesthetic, technical, and methodological aspects of the field, current topics, and including an interpretation question.

Portfolyo:The portfolio will include works produced by the candidate during their undergraduate education as well as independently created art and design products. Candidates must be able to accurately respond to questions related to their works. 

The design portfolio should include:

  • Curriculum vitae

  • Collections from undergraduate studies

  • Illustrations and product photographs

  • Certificates related to the field

  • Documentation of events, exhibitions, competitions, etc.

Since submitted portfolios are considered examination documents, they will not be returned.

Interview: An oral examination consisting of questions designed to assess the candidate’s competence and proficiency in the field of Textile and Fashion Design.

Fields Covered in the Examination:Key concepts in Textile and Fashion Design, design movements, designers, fashion and design events, historical processes, design and production techniques, current issues in the field, and related topics.

Final Evaluation Score: Scientific Examination (50%) + Cumulative Grade Point Average (50%)

Note: Candidates must bring a BLUE ballpoint pen for use in the written examination.
