DOCTORAL PROGRAM

About the Program

This program is structured within an aesthetic and theoretical educational framework. Traditional and contemporary film techniques are examined through both theoretical and practical courses within their historical context. In addition to providing comprehensive education in film design, the program aims to foster an interdisciplinary approach by offering elective courses from various fields of art.

Admission Requirements
Eligible Applicants

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Film Design, Radio, Television and Cinema, Animation, Cartoon and Animation, Digital Game Design, Photography, Digital Media, Visual Design, Communication Design, New Media, Visual Arts, Cultural Studies, Women’s Studies, Theatre, Communication, Art and Design, or related fields from the Faculties of Fine Arts and Communication or the relevant Institutes.

Note: Applications from candidates whose academic background does not meet the specified eligibility criteria will not be considered.

Required Documents
  • Master’s Diploma (obtained via E-Government system) (in Turkish)

  • Official Transcript (obtained via E-Government system) – to be submitted on the examination day (in Turkish)

  • ALES Certificate (Verbal Score: minimum 60)

  • Foreign Language Proficiency Certificate (minimum score: 55)

Examination

60% Written Examination

40% Oral Interview

Scientific Examination

Written (60%) + Interview (40%)

Scientific Examination (Written):

A written examination will be administered covering fundamental concepts, theories, movements, directors, films, and other relevant topics within the field.

Scientific Examination (Interview):

An interview will be conducted with candidates to evaluate their written examination performance, research plans, and other field-related matters.

Fields Subject to Examination

Film Design, Cinema, Media, Television, and other related areas including recent and contemporary developments in the field.

Evaluation Criteria

Final Success Score: Scientific Examination(25%)+Master’s GPA(25%)+ALES Score( 50%)
